We officially can focus on one type of name - a boy's name. YAY! However I am having some personal issues with this.
Up to this point, we have really liked Adeline Grace for a girl so we will need to shelf that name for a year or too (*wink wink*). For a boy, I haven't really found a name I love but Dave sure has. He found the name Tannen in one of the houses he was going to show a client. They had twins and the boy's room had the name Tannen on the wall and the girl's had Teagan. Ever since, he has said the name probably at least 5,000 times (and those that are around Dave can totally attest to this).
At first, he wanted Tannen Trouble Thompson. Yes! Trouble as the middle name - that got ruled out but Tannen has just been lingering.
As soon as we left the doctor's office yesterday, Dave immediately was excited that we were going to bring Tannen into the world. I'm still not completely sold on it but do like it.
A few weeks ago, I decided to google Tannen Thompson just to see if anything would come up. My friends at church named their son Renn which is a very unique name, but they googled his name (with their last) and there's some famous track star by the name. When I googled it, not much came up except for one guy from Wisconsin. His cell phone number and email were listed under his name as it was a business contact site. When I told Dave that I found a Tannen Thompson online, he joked that he was going to contact him to see if his name has been good to him.
If I have learned anything from the seven years of knowing Dave is to NEVER underestimate him. I got an email from Dave today that said, "What I sent to Tannen Thompson below..." Dave totally contacted the guy - we'll see if he sends anything back. The email is below:

Subject: Question about your name
Tannen,
I’m sure this is probably the strangest email you will get today. I am emailing you because my wife and I are thinking about naming our first child “Tannen Thompson” and want your feedback on how you like your name. We have been talking about names for awhile and I came across “Tannen” a few months ago and haven’t been able to find a name I like better since.
Do you like your name? Do people ever comment about your name or its uniqueness? Did you or do you have any nicknames? Does your name have a story or history of how your parents chose it? Absolutely any feedback you can provide me will be greatly appreciated!
David Thompson
Now once we figure out this conundrum, we need to think of a middle name. Oh boy! (literally)
